Recipe: Yawdi’s Jerk Pork


Serves 8-10

This is a traditional dish that exemplifies the authentic taste of what Jamaica is all about.  Minimal marinade times with authentic results.   

Ingredients

  • 4 lbs / 1.8 kg boneless pork shoulder roast

  • 1/2 cup Yawdi’s® Jerk sauce

Preparation

  • Cut pork shoulder into two pieces, make cuts of 1-inch apart and 1/8 to 1/4-inch deep; this will help the marinade penetrate the meat better.  

  • Place the pork in a shallow pan or bowl and combine with Yawdi’s® Jerk sauce

  • Rub sauce over pork and into the cuts made in the first point

This recipe will work well in either the oven or on the BBQ

Oven

  • Preheat oven to 375 F / 190 C

  • Place Pork on a greased grill.

  • Slow cook pork until meat is brown and tender

  • Cook for about45 minutes to 1 hour

BBQ

  • Place Pork on a greased grill over medium heat

  • Close lid and grill Slow cook pork until meat is brown and tender.

  • Cook for about 45 minutes to 1 hour.

To serve, cut pork into 1- inch cubes.
